MADISON, Miss. (January 6, 2020) – Vertex Aerospace has been awarded a $77,247,414 firm-fixed-price contract for contractor operated and maintained base supply (COMBS) of the Air Education and Training Command’s fleet of T-1A trainer aircraft. This award is a modification to a previously awarded contract (FA8106-18-C-0001).
Vertex will provide contractor logistics support to over 170 T-1A trainer aircraft at five U.S. Air Force bases throughout the U.S. Vertex has supported the Jayhawk trainer fleet since the USAF procured the aircraft in 1992.

The contract modification began in December 2019 on the medium-range, twin-engine aircraft and is scheduled to be completed in November 2020. Work will be performed at Randolph Air Force Base and Laughlin AFB in Texas, Vance AFB in Oklahoma, Columbus AFB in Mississippi, and Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida.
Funds in the amount of $15,787,799 were allocated at the time of the award. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma is the contracting activity.
